CONCORD, NH – The trial of a recent graduate of a prominent New Hampshire prep school is revealing what may be a tradition of rape.
Police say Owen Labrie assaulted a 15-year-old girl on the roof of a building at St. Paul’s School in Concord as part of what he told police was the “Senior Salute.”
Apparently there’s a tradition for senior boys to take the virginity of as many younger girls as they can before graduating. He told police the guys even kept a running tally.
Police say Labrie told them he was trying to be number one. He denies having full-out sex with the girl, though. He claims she wanted to go all the way, but that a moment of what he called “divine inspiration” stopped him.
