The fear of “Onye Igbo” in Lagos is the beginning of wisdom!
How can you meet a fellow Igbo outside your land and instead of him or her to communicate with your language they will start speaking English for you or even try to speak a foreign language. The fact is that not just only our young ones are involve in this act but our fathers and mothers.
Some will only see you and speak Igbo either when they want to cheat you or they wan to gossip against the foreigners!
My question is who is fooling who?
What is the faith of our dear mother tongue?
Is it that we cant speak Igbo language any more?
Don’t be surprise if i tell you that some of our graduates cannot fill a form without asking for help! Yay!
Who is to be blame?
I am afraid, in our dear country examination malpractice is now a tradition. Students even boast of going to exam halls with there textbooks and succeeding without being caught. Some invented many ways of cheating in the exam hall.
Some will even go to make noise in the exam hall. If you ask them if they wants to fail…they will laugh and tell you “after the exam that is when big guys write there’s”. The truth is…they are right! because you will be amazed when the result is out. Well! You guess right!
Some lecturers are not even helping matters instead they make it worse.
The non sortable lecturers are tagged “wicked” man or woman while they sortable, hungry, greedy, unmotivated ones are tagged “good and simple” man or woman.
You will not be surprise when i tell you that some of our parents are the ones that always hustle and make sure they get for there children the person that will write there exams for them so that they will pass in “flying colors”.
You that is reading this are u sure that you wrote all your exams by yourself and for yourself?
Well is not there fault sha…after all its all about CERTIFICATE in our dear country!
No wonder most of our graduates are not employable!
Would like to employ a liability?
No wonder unemployment has taken over our country.
The question now is WHO IS TO BE BLAME?
The government? or

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Jurors in the trial of a former student charged with raping a freshman girl days before he graduated from an elite New Hampshire prep school will soon have to weigh whether the defendant is telling the truth when he says no intercourse occurred during their heated encounter.
Owen Labrie, of Tunbridge, Vermont, was an 18-year-old senior at St. Paul’s School when a 15-year-old girl accused him of raping her on campus last year as part of Senior Salute, a school tradition in which seniors try to romance and have intercourse with underclassmen before leaving campus.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Thursday.
Labrie acknowledged that he told multiple close friends within hours of the encounter that he’d had sex with the girl, but told jurors Wednesday he lied to impress them. He also admitted deleting several Facebook exchanges, including one in which he told…

Yesterday I was helping someone tidy up their house. She is incapable of doing it for herself because she has had stroke more than once and she is also diabetic and hypertensive. I notice that our people lack knowledge of nutrition. People assume that they get nutrients from processed foods (box juice, bag juice, tin food, anything man-made) but eating processed foods cause debilitating diseases like hypertension and diabetes. Anything in the supermarket that is not vegetables and fruits that is continuously consumed in the diet will cause from obesity to the common flu, because the body is robbed of enzymes only found in natural foods which provide it with the nutrients to defend itself.
What grieved me about yesterday was that the medications on her chest of drawers have been expired for the past two years and yet someone is feeding them to her. She cannot see anymore. If you…

Author’s Note: This essay was originally published on Hamilton and Griffin on Rights, a site run by Professor Marci Hamilton and Professor Leslie Griffin, which is dedicated to the healthy separation of church and state and the rights of women and children (specifically surrounding childhood sexual abuse). I encourage you to check out the site and the amazing work these women are doing. It is currently the only legal blog that has the majority of content authored by women, and you can find my writing there on the last Tuesday of each month. This post has been republished with permission.
I have a recurring nightmare where I am being hunted. It looks like a chase scene from an action movie, except that whenever I try to fight back, my body becomes paralyzed. If I attempt to scream, my throat only releases breathy gasps. Running away? Forget about it. I…
