“I had a family,” He said between the sobs. He was in turmoil.

“What about me?” She answered confidently, albeit dazed.

“It was yours too. Two people parent a child.” He was too paralyzed to keep up with her.

“I could’ve helped you.” She almost shrieked but after an hour full of screaming, her throat was sore. She was on the verge of losing her voice besides the senses.

“You could’ve, but you were busy being a Man” He denounced her.

She slumped on the sofa, clutching the armrest. She wanted to be respectful among the society. She wanted to get rid of all the shackles that a woman has to wear. She wanted to be noble in the eyes of her only daughter and her husband.

“I did it for us.” She looked him in the eye struggling to find strength in her voice.
