One of the greatest debates in the history of my undergrad Girls’ Club was on whether or not we should accept fellow undergrad boys as members. And I vividly remember how it all went.
Our club president, a law student, was adamant that if we allow guys into our club, they will dominate us as they do in other campus affairs. Other students seconded her position by saying, that the club is a space that we created for ourselves and that it should remain exclusively ours. Rounds of applause and murmurs of disapproval followed these speeches.
