This Teen Girl Wrote A Great Response After She Was Suspended For Wearing An ‘Inappropriate’ Dress

A 17-year-old girl from New Brunswick, Canada was given detention after wearing a dress that was deemed a “sexual distraction” to the young men in her school. Lauren Wiggins wrote about what happened to her on Facebook, saying, “Today, I received a detention because the outfit I am wearing is considered inappropriate and a sexual distraction to the young men in my school. Enough is enough. I’m tired of the unjust standards that we as women are held up to.”

Wiggins added that “it’s time to change the world’s mindset” and how sick she is “with comments that make us feel like we can’t be comfortable without being provocative.” So, she wrote an open letter to her vice principal and, after it went viral (and got her detention), to the entire internet.
