Five activists have been jailed for protesting women’s rights in China.

The “Beijing Five” have staged many elaborate protests including wearing bloodied wedding dresses and dressing as toilets to raise awareness for how women are treated in Chinese society.

The group has not been formally charged, but could face up to five years in prison.
