CHIOMA, stop thinking, rather verify and come up with your fact. Now living in a society where animals, women and children has more protection and rights than men; I will contribute logically. From any angle, we must talk about the written theory we see and universally accepted as God’s word – the bible. God made male human first later made the companion for him. Secondly it is the male that carry on the fathers name or his own name. We do not talk about property sharing. You marry, you do not continue with your father’s name but the new family.
We do not count of superiority in the sense many take it.modern men and women need to accept equality of a couple, as one, they pursue the same goal, have the same surname, same children , they are not struggling for who is more than the other. In the society, we learn from outside what will built us. If we buy the western culture at this age, technology and economic dispositions we shall land in big mismanagement of situation. We need to think of bring ourselves out of comparing ourselves with others, no one can dispute the worth of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and such ladies. It only need time for ladies to prove themselves.
As for the home front depending on the society, a child may answer mothers name or the fathers name, yet if women work for unity of the family and not to look for right on properties or freedom to live as pleases them. We should do first thing first. In Uk, children and women are protected more than men. Yet in Nigeria, and other African nation similar thing hold but nobody goes to seek for her right because we all do not do the right thing. Please note that naturally a child learns to turn, attempt to rise, sit, stand and walk before the child can run. Ladies should not jump the gun.
I rest my opinion.
I really appreciate ur opinion sir!
Agreed Chioma! I think there are inequalities on both sides and we should all be working together to balance things so both genders have the same opportunities, be it in the boardroom or the nursery. Love the blog. Keep it up!
